Animals
Movers and Starters groups have been enjoying learning about different animals and have been listening to many animal stories. We have thoroughly enjoyed listening to stories by Eric Carle such as “The Bad-tempered Ladybird”, or ‘’The tortoise and the hare’’ by Brian Wildsmith.
Children were very excited when Kostya brought his tortoise to the classroom. They now know the features of reptiles and have also started to think about what they might investigate as part of their Independent animals Project.
‘Animals’ is a Science based topic and as a result of our learning we have been classifying and naming a range of animals including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. We have also learnt lots of interesting facts about animals such as marmosets. Finally, we did our science mural including everything we learned in English about animals. We talked about the different kinds of animals they know and sorted them into categories.
Children loved it!!!
