«If you are going to get anywhere in life you have to read a lot of books»
Roald Dahl
We had a great day celebrating Roald Dahl’s birthday on Thursday 13th September. Flyers groups carried out activities based on Roald Dahl book, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," We have recently started reading the book. We heard a short biography of Roald Dahl and then had a quiz about his life. We learned several interesting facts, such as he was injured as a pilot in the Royal Air Force during WWII, he became a writer after his short story about his flying experiences was published in "The Saturday Evening Post," and he began penning children's books in order to entertain his own five kids. After the quiz (Sergey got nine questions out of ten correct to win the prize!), everyone was treated to fondue, dipping apple, pear and banana slices into a tasty, melted chocolate sauce. We absolutely loved our Dahlicious day and hope your children are now inspired to read more Roald Dahl books!
